Dr Kazi M U Ahamed

Dr Kazi M U Ahamed is an experienced legal professional specialising in corporate and commercial law, immigration, and dispute resolution. Called to the Bar (Barrister-at-law) at the Honourable Society of the Middle Temple in 2014, Kazi has practised law in both the UK and Bangladesh, advising individuals, businesses, and multinational clients on complex legal matters.

Kazi’s practice encompasses company law, joint ventures, corporate governance, and commercial contracts. He has drafted and negotiated agreements in high-value cross-border transactions, including joint ventures between Bangladeshi, Indonesian, and Ukrainian energy companies, as well as representing clients in arbitration and litigation. His expertise also includes advising on regulatory compliance, shareholder disputes, and corporate restructuring.

In addition to his corporate practice, Kazi has extensive experience in UK immigration law, having assisted clients with visa applications, asylum claims, and family law matters during his time at Chancery Solicitors in London. His approach combines meticulous legal analysis with a client-focused mindset to achieve practical solutions.

Kazi is currently Programme Leader and Senior Lecturer in Law at William College, in partnership with Bath Spa University. He teaches on corporate, contract, and tort law, and incorporates his practical legal experience into his teaching to help develop the next generation of legal professionals.

He completed his PhD in Law at Nottingham Trent University, conducting research comparing directors’ duties in the UK and Bangladesh. He has published and presented extensively on corporate governance, privacy law, and international business law. He is a Fellow of the Society for Advanced Legal Studies and a member of the Society of Legal Scholars, LAWASIA, and the Human Rights Lawyers Association.
